Although the DevExpress ASP.NET MVC Spreadsheet provides a built-in means to manage (create, open and save) files via the File ribbon tab, an external file management control can also be used with the Spreadsheet.

This demo illustrates how to use an external FileManager extension to navigate a document hierarchy and select a file to open. Documents can be opened from a specific folder on the server ("DocumentBrowsing"), and can also be uploaded to this folder from an end-user's computer. The selected document is opened within the Spreadsheet by using the LoadDocument static method.
