Data Binding

This demo illustrates how to bind the ASPxCloudControl to a data source. The ASPxCloudControl supports standard data binding - any object that implements the IEnumerable or IDataSource interface (e.g. SqlDataSource, XmlDataSource) may be used as a data source for this control.

In this demo the ASPxCloudControl receives data from an MS Access database. The ASPxCloudControl implements specific properties that point to the data fields containing the necessary data. These are the TextField, ValueField and NavigateUrlField properties.

Like our other web controls, the ASPxCloudControl includes an ItemDataBound event that allows you to customize values that are to be assigned to tag cloud element properties during data binding.

Refer to VB or C# code to see how the ItemDataBound event is handled in this demo to cast item text to upper case.
