This demo illustrates how the DevExpress ASP.NET MVC Pivot Grid can be bound to large databases using LINQ to SQL.
With the ASP.NET MVC Pivot Grid, you can easily bind to LINQ to SQL data sources via the extension's BindToLINQ method. Simply call the method, pass the DataContext and table name as method parameters. Internally, the BindToLINQ method uses our LinqServerModeDataSource component, which was specifically designed to allow the Pivot Grid MVC extension to efficiently process large amounts of data. The LinqServerModeDataSource component automatically enables server mode to optimize the execution of all LINQ queries initiated by the Pivot Grid. In this mode, the MVC Pivot Grid performs data-aware operations on the database server side, which allows the MVC Pivot Grid to quickly load and display data even if sorting, grouping, filtering, and summary are used. This technique significantly improves the Pivot Grid's speed and responsiveness.
