By default, MVC Pivot Grid shows all rows in a hierarchical way, which is common for pivot tables (Full Layout). However, when there are a lot of fields in the Row Area, this kind of presentation may produce a cumbersome layout. To avoid this, the PivotGrid extension allows you to arrange row headers in a tree-like manner (Compact Layout), as shown in this demo.
