The DevExpress ASP.NET Tree List (ASPxTreeList) allows end-users to filter tree list data using the header filter that displays a drop-down list of all the unique values in a column. To enable the tree list header filter, set the AllowHeaderFilter property to true. The column header's filter button activates the Header Filter, which allows end-users to filter the records stored in the underlying dataset by selecting the values displayed within the drop-down.

Filter drop-down buttons are disabled by default. To show filter buttons, set the Settings.ShowHeaderFilterButton property to true.

You can specify the header filter mode for a column using the SettingsHeaderFilter.Mode property.

  • In List mode, the column's header filter drop-down displays a regular list of filter items, allowing end-users to select a single value.
  • In CheckedList mode, the column's header filter drop-down contains a checkbox list, allowing end-users to select multiple filter criteria values.
  • DateRangeCalendar and DateRangePicker modes are available for date columns only.
  • NumericRangePicker mode is available for numeric columns only.

The ASPxTreeList allows you to create custom filter values, define filter criteria and display these values within the column's filter dropdown. To do this, implement a method delegate specified by the HeaderFilterFillItems property. In this demo, custom filter values are displayed within the 'Budget' column's filter dropdown.
